Discover the legendary Moses Bath, located 100 kilometers from Sharm El Sheikh in El Tor City. Nestled a few kilometers outside Al Tor, this remarkable hot spring flows from the mountain Gebel El Tur into a beautifully carved stone structure known as 'Ham-mam Moussa' or the Lord Moses’ Bath.
According to local legend, during the Exodus, Moses and his followers rested at this very site while in search of water. When Moses inquired of an old woman at the spring about the drinkability of the water, she misleadingly claimed it was unfit for consumption. Turning to God for guidance, Moses prayed for the water to be blessed, and thereafter, the spring was named Ham-mam Moussa. While the water is now deemed unsuitable for drinking, it is renowned for its therapeutic properties.
The water maintains a温度 of 27 degrees Celsius and is rich in magnesium, sodium, and sulfur, making it particularly beneficial for skin conditions and arthritis. Visitors often describe the bathing experience as deeply relaxing, leaving a pleasant tingling sensation on the skin. The natural minerals contribute to a feeling of rejuvenation, with many noting that their skin feels firmer and healthier for days after the visit. Surrounded by lush palm trees, the area around Ham-mam Moussa is currently undergoing enhancements, including the construction of guest accommodations. Thermal baths have been developed around this natural hot spring, providing a tranquil setting to unwind.
