The Predynastic cemetery of El Amra was excavated with hundreds of graves from all Predynastic stages. Settlements have been found, most representing small villages.
The temple is also the supposed resting place of the head of the God Osiris. At the back of the gigantic temple is a structure known as the Osireion. It was built in a way similar to the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. A delusive sarcophagus was found in the burial place of this complex temple.
The temple of Dendera is an ancient temple complex dating back to the Ptolemaic dynasty.
Further on, proceed to Dendera, a small town located about 60 km north of Luxor on the west bank of the Nile. Visit the best well preserved temple in Egypt. Enjoy flashy scenes that characterize the Roman emperor Trajan paying homage mainly to the Ancient goddess Hathor, as well as other mythical reliefs that garnish this magnificent Graeco Roman temple.
